COC Annual Meeting & Open Positions & Ballots Coming Soon

Cascade Orienteering Club Logo

COC’s annual general meeting will be held October 28th, from 7 to 8:30pm, via Zoom. All are welcome to join. We’ll have a quick review of the past year, provide some details about what’s ahead for the club, and provide opportunities for anyone to ask questions, share ideas, or make connections. Details will be posted at https://cascadeoc.org/event/2021-annual-meeting/ over the next few weeks.

In addition to a club “state of the union”, our annual meeting is when our key volunteer positions are refreshed. Currently there is one open general member representative position in addition to coordinator positions that we’re always looking to fill. If you are interested in this board position, or any committee positions, please reach out to Ing Uhlin or Eric Jones via info@cascadeoc.org.

Ballots will be mailed out to COC members on October 8th and close October 27th so results can be announced at the meeting.

COC Represents at US Championships in Tahoe

Cascade Orienteering Club had a tremendous showing at the US Champs in Tahoe earlier this month. COC not only had many participants, they also brought home many medals. COC was responsible for all starts at the 4 races in what was a trial run for us to again run start at NAOC in 2023. BAOC gifted COC a beautiful new start flag for our efforts.

A Fond Farewell to Peteris and Family

If you have run any of COC’s Ultimate Races, you have most likely run on a map created by Peteris Ledins. Peteris is the creator of over 12 orienteering maps in our state and COC has had the pleasure of having many events on his maps. He has also been a course designer as well as avid COC race participant.  Peteris, his wife Gunta, and their children moved back to their home country of Latvia this month. COC thanks Peteris for his contributions to the club and wishes the family all the best in their new home.
